Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove oil level indicator.
2.
Remove fan shroud, then raise and support vehicle.
3.
Drain engine oil, then remove flywheel cover and disconnect crossover pipe.
4.
Remove starter motor.
5.
Support engine using tools BT-6501 and BT-7109, or equivalents, then remove motor mount to engine block retaining bolts.
6.
Raise engine as high as possible, using tools mentioned in previous step, then remove oil pan attaching bolts and the oil pan.
7.
Reverse procedure to install and note the following:
a. Apply sealer 1050026 or equivalent to pan side gaskets, then position gaskets onto pan side rails.
b. Install front and rear rubber seals, then apply a bead of RTV sealant at points where seals meet side gaskets.
