Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair
When installing radio, be sure to adjust antenna trimmer for peak performance.
1982---88 FULL SIZE MODELS EXC. RIVIERA
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove radio knobs, escutcheons and if equipped with rear defogger, rear defogger knob.
3.
Remove lefthand instrument panel trim plate by removing headlight knob, then place gear selector in low. Using a suitable flat bladed screwdriver
or putty knife, remove trim plate by gently prying edge, then lifting straight out.
4.
Remove center trim plate attaching screws, then trim plate.
5.
Remove screws attaching radio to radio bracket, then carefully pull radio rearward out of instrument panel.
6.
Disconnect radio harness connectors and antenna lead.
7.
Reverse procedure to install.
