5. Twist the spark plug boot 1/2 turn before removing the boot.
6. Using the J 38491, gently pry the heat shield up from the spark plugs.
7. Remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
8. Remove the spark plug harness tabs from the rocker cover and remove the harness.
9. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
Important: If the valve rocker arm cover adheres to the cylinder head, remove the cover by bumping the end of the cover with the palm
of your hand or with a soft rubber mallet.
10. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.
11. Remove the valve rocker arm cover gasket.
12. Clean the valve rocker arm cover mating surfaces.
13. Clean the valve rocker arm cover bolts of all thread locking adhesive.
