Lucerne V6-3.8L VIN 2 (2006)
Installation Procedure
Important: Follow this procedure exactly or the transaxle will have no reverse gear due to the servo pin missing the band.
1. Jack up the driver side (channel plate side) of the car until it is higher than the differential side. This ensures that the reverse band is in the proper
location and not cocked to the channel plate side of the case.
2. Install the servo spring (49).
3. Install the servo assembly (42-48).
4. Install the reverse servo cover (40) with new O-ring seal (41).
5. Install the snap ring (39).
6. Install the right exhaust manifold.
7. Install the exhaust crossover.
Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.
8. Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP
values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.
Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions.
