Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Pan Replacement

J 39505 Torque Wrench Adapter
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (See: Starting and
Charging/Battery/Battery Cable/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement (See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Engine
Mount/Service and Repair).
3. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture (See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Support Fixture).
4. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (V8) (See: Exhaust System/Catalytic Converter/Service and Repair).
5. Remove the oil pan drain plug.
6. Drain the crankcase.
7. Reinstall the oil pan drain plug.
8. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and
Repair).
9. Remove the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Fender/Front Fender/Front Fender
Liner/Service and Repair).
10. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and
Repair).
