Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (LZ9/LGD)   (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Power

Steering/Power Steering Pump/Service and Repair)Power Steering Pump Replacement (L37)   (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Power
Steering/Power Steering Pump/Service and Repair).

2. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the CMP sensor bolt.
4. Remove the CMP sensor.
5. Inspect the sensor O-ring for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.
