Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and
Repair).
3. Remove the right stabilizer shaft link from the right lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (See: Steering and
Suspension/Suspension/Stabilizer Bar/Stabilizer Link/Service and Repair/Front Suspension).
4. Remove the right tie rod end from the right steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement (See: Steering and
Suspension/Steering/Tie Rod/Service and Repair/Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement).
5. Remove the right lower ball joint from the right steering knuckle. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement (See: Steering and
Suspension/Suspension/Control Arm/Service and Repair/Front Suspension).
6. Disconnect the right drive axle from the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft
Assembly/Service and Repair).
7. Secure the right drive axle to the right steering knuckle and strut.
8. Use the J 23129 and the J 6125-1B to remove the seal (4).
Installation Procedure
1. Use a light wipe of transaxle fluid to lubricate the seal lip.
2. Use the J 29130 to install a new seal (4).
Important: Carefully guide the axle shaft past the lip seal. Do NOT allow the shaft splines to contact any portion of the seal lip surface.
3. Connect the drive axle to the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft
Assembly/Service and Repair).
4. Install the right lower ball joint to the right steering knuckle. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement (See: Steering and
Suspension/Suspension/Control Arm/Service and Repair/Front Suspension).
