3. Drill 8 mm (5/16 in) plug weld holes in the service part as necessary in the locations noted from the original panel.
4. Prepare all of the mating surfaces as necessary.
5. Apply GM-approved Weld-Thru Coating or equivalent to all mating surfaces. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair () .
6. Position the hinge bracket.
7. If the original location of the hinge can not be determined, locate the front edge of the hinge (1) 5.0 mm (3/16 in) from the rear edge of the
clearance hole in the fender rail (2).
