Tie Rod Boot: Service and Repair
Rack and Pinion Boot Replacement
Tools Required
J 22610 Keystone Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Wheels and Tires/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).
3. Remove the outer tie rod. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement (See: Tie Rod End/Service and Repair).
4. Remove the hex jam nut (2) from the inner tie rod.
