Oil Level Warning Indicator: Description and Operation
OIL LEVEL MONITORING SYSTEM:
The oil level monitoring system consists of an oil level module and a low oil level sensor. When the ignition switch is first turned to RUN, the oil
level module turns on the CHECK OIL LEVEL indicator for 1 to 3 seconds as a bulb test. The module then monitors the oil level sensor. If
vehicle oil is at an acceptable level, CHECK OIL LEVEL indicator remains off. If oil level is low, indicator turns on for 20 to 40 seconds. If
ignition switch has not been off for a minimum of 5 to 8 minutes, oil level check is disabled by module's internal timer, but bulb test is still active.
