Rear Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

Door Handle Replacement - Rear Outside

Removal Procedure

Important:  Ensure that the window is in the full-up position.

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door  See: Rear Door Panel/Service and Repair
2. Peel the water deflector down far enough to access the inside of the door latch. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door  (See: Rear

Door Panel/Service and Repair) .

3. Disconnect the outside door handle rod from the door latch.

4. Remove the plugs (1).

5. Remove the fasteners from the handle assembly.
6. Gently flex the lower tabs upwards in order to allow the handle to disengage from the outer door panel flange.
7. Remove the outside door handle.
8. Remove the rod from the handle.

Installation Procedure

1. Insert the top of the outside handle (1) into the door.
2. Apply pressure at the lower portion of the handle assembly to snap the tabs (2) into place.
