DISABLING PROCEDURE
1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
4. Locate the underhood fuse center, then remove the fuse center top cover.
5. Locate and remove the SIR fuse from the underhood fuse center.
IMPORTANT: With the SIR fuse removed and the ignition switch in the ON position, the AIR BAG warning indicator illuminates. This is normal
operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.
6. When disabling the RF/passenger seat, perform step 7 and step 8. If the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) needs disabling, then use the entire
procedure.
7. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (1) from the RF/passenger side impact module yellow connector (3) which is located under the
passenger seat.
8. Disconnect the vehicle harness yellow connector (2) from the RF side impact module yellow connector (3).
9. Remove the right insulator panel.
10. Remove the CPA (4) from the vehicle harness yellow connector (2) located below the instrument panel (I/P) (3).
11. Disconnect the I/P module yellow connector (1) from the vehicle harness yellow connector (2).
