Seal Replacement - Intermediate Steering Shaft 
Removal Procedure

1. Remove the steering column and intermediate steering shaft.
2. Remove the vacuum brake booster.
3. Disconnect the fuel lines from the under hood fasteners in order to gain access to the steering shaft seal retaining bolts
4. Remove the intermediate steering shaft seal retaining bolts.

5. Remove the intermediate steering shaft seal from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the intermediate shaft seal into the vehicle.

2. Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Line up the intermediate shaft seal with the holes on the floor pan and install the intermediate shaft seal bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.).

3. Install the fuel bundle into the under hood fasteners
4. Install the vacuum brake booster.
5. Install the steering column and intermediate steering shaft.
6. Operate the steering in order to verify there is no binding between the intermediate steering shaft and intermediate steering shaft seal.
