Case Extension Housing Replacement

J 36850 Transjel

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the vehicle speed sensor. 
3. Remove the right front tire and the wheel assembly.

4. Important:  Carefully guide the right drive axle output shaft past the lip seal. Do not allow the shaft splines to contact any portion of the lip seal

surface.

Remove the right drive axle from the vehicle.

5. Remove the case extension bolts.

6. Loosen the torque strut bracket to engine bolts as needed.
7. Swing the bracket out of the way.

8. Remove the case extension assembly and the seal.
