STEP 2: If there is still contact and you have verified that the door pads are properly secured, verify that the I/P is properly centered between door pads.

If the I/P to door trim gaps are not equal side to side:

1.

Remove I/P upper trim panel, left and right I/P trim plates, wood grain trim plates and knee bolster.

2.

Loosen (4) 7 mm hex screws which attach I/P to end brackets (see illustration).

3.

Shift I/P to center it between door pads.

4.

Retighten 7 mm hex screws.

5.

Loosely assemble knee bolster to I/P carrier.

6.

Recheck vehicle for contact.

If no contact, retighten knee bolster, replace all trim. If contact, continue to step 3.
