SUBJECT:
REAR BRAKE SHOES FREEZE TO DRUMS
MODELS AFFECTED: 1991-92 PARK AVENUE/PARK AVENUE ULTRA AND LESABRE MODELS
This bulletin is being revised to include 1992 models. Please discard Buick Bulletin No. 91-5-9 issued in May, 1991.
CONDITION:
Some 1991-92 Park Avenue/Park Avenue Ultra and LeSabre models may experience the following condition. When the rear brake shoes are damp and
the ambient temperature is 32~ Fahrenheit or lower, the shoes may temporarily freeze to the brake drum. This normally occurs after the vehicle has gone
through an automatic car wash or heavy slush and then is parked for some time.
CORRECTION:
If a customer should comment on the above condition, replace both left and right brake shoes with the listed part numbers. The shoes have a lower
metallic content and will easily break loose from the brake drum.
