Vacuum Brake Booster Replace

BOOSTER

Removing Power Booster

IMPORTANT: The booster can be removed from the vehicle without removing or disconnecting the master cylinder. However, if both the booster and
master cylinder are to be removed, remove the master cylinder first.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Booster vacuum hose from vacuum check valve.
2. Master cylinder attaching nuts (37).
3. Master cylinder from booster.

Move master cylinder forward just enough to clear studs on booster. This will flex the brake pipes slightly, but take care not to bend or distort
the pipes.

4. Acoustical barrier from booster studs (under I/P).
5. Booster attaching nuts (36).
6. Booster pushrod from brake pedal. Tilt entire booster slightly to work pushrod off pedal clevis pin without putting undue side pressure on pushrod.
7. Booster from vehicle.
8. Gasket.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Gasket to booster.
2. Booster to vehicle.
3. Booster pushrod to brake pedal. Tilt entire booster slightly to work pushrod onto pedal clevis pin without putting undue side pressure on pushrod.
4. Booster attaching nuts (36).

TIGHTEN

Attaching nuts to 21 Nm (15 lb. ft.).

5. Acoustical barrier onto booster studs (under I/P).
6. Master cylinder to booster.
7. Master cylinder attaching nuts (37).

TIGHTEN

^

Attaching nuts to 27 Nm (20 lb. ft.).

8. Booster vacuum hose to vacuum check valve.
