Brake Fluid Pump: Service and Repair
Fig. 51 Pressure Modulator Valve (PMV) Replace
1.
Remove battery ground cable and the air cleaner assembly.
2.
Disconnect fluid level switch, pump motor and valve block electrical connectors from the PMV.
3.
Clamp PMV reservoir hose, disconnect reservoir hose, then plug using a 5/8 inch plug.
4.
Remove primary and secondary hoses, then the brake pipes from PMV assembly, Fig. 51.
5.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove lower PMV assembly bolt.
6.
Lower vehicle, remove upper PMV assembly bolts, then the PMV assembly.
7.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque upper and lower PMV assembly bolts to 20 ft. lbs.
b. Torque brake pipes to 11 ft. lbs.
c. Torque battery cable to 13 ft. lbs.
