This bulletin is being revised to add the 2007 model year and models. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-08-48-002B (Section 08 - Body and
Accessories).
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform dealer technicians and the glass shop technicians of the use of acoustic windshield and door glass.
The 2004-2007 Buick Rainier, the 2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS, the 2005-2007 GMC Envoy Denali and the 2005-2007 Saab 9-7X are equipped
with "Quiet Tuning", which is a special acoustic laminated windshield and front door glass.
Important:
When ordering a windshield for any TrailBlazer or Envoy model, verify if the vehicle is equipped with CE1 (RAINSENSE(TM)) or without CE1 and
Y91 (RAINSENSE(TM) and Luxury Edition Merchandise Package) and order accordingly.
For all 2005-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy models, only the acoustic laminated windshield is available.
Due to the difference in processing, along with the difference in the curvature of the glass, the optics of the glass may appear wavy on a cross-car view
from the outside of the vehicle. This is a normal condition and the windshield glass should not be replaced for this condition. The view through the glass
from the driver's position is clear and not affected.
Important:
Replace the windshield ONLY if there is a wavy condition or any type of distortion as seen from the driver's seating position that is within the wipe
zone on the windshield.
