Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
1.
Discharge and recover refrigerant from system.
2.
Drain cooling system, remove cross tower support bracket attaching nuts and bolts.
3.
Remove relay center, set aside.
4.
Remove heater hoses from heater core, then evaporator retaining bracket.
5.
Disconnect refrigerant inlet and outlet lines from evaporator.
6.
Remove heater hose T connector.
7.
Remove two engine compartment heat shield attaching screws, then raise vehicle and remove two heat shield attaching screws from beneath
vehicle. Then remove heat shield.
8.
Remove two A/C module attaching screws, then lower vehicle.
9.
Disconnect electrical connectors from power module and blower motor.
10.
Remove power module, then blower motor.
11.
Remove module cover, sound insulator, seal, then evaporator core.
12.
Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. After all work has been completed, rearm airbag as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION
