Campaign Label, Parts Disposition, Warranty & Owner Letter Information
CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL
Each vehicle corrected in accordance with the instructions outlined in this Product Campaign Bulletin will require a "Campaign Identification Label".
Each label provides a space to include the five (5) digit dealer code of the dealer performing the campaign service. This information may be inserted
with a typewriter or a ballpoint pen.
Each "Campaign Identification Label" is to be located on the radiator core support in an area which will be visible when the vehicle is brought in for
periodic servicing by the owner.
Apply "Campaign Identification Label" only on a clean dry surface.
DISPOSITION OF PARTS
Replaced parts must be held for disposition by Buick Zone or Branch contact personnel. Parts must have a claim tag attached showing the repair order
and the VIN of the vehicle from which they were removed.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
REASON FOR THIS RECALL
General Motors has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist in a small number of 1988 Buick Regal model vehicles.
When the left front brake hose was assembled to the brake hose bracket, the components may have been twisted. This condition could allow the brake
hose to contact the fender lining/rail area. Over time, this contact could allow the brake hose to wear through, causing a loss of brake fluid and a partial
loss of braking capability. Part of the brake system will still work and allow the vehicle to be stopped, but over a greater distance. A partial loss of
braking capability at a time when minimum stopping distance is required could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning.
WHAT WE WILL DO
To prevent this condition from occurring, the left front brake hose on your vehicle will be inspected for proper installation and replaced as required. This
service will be performed for you at no charge.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Please contact your Buick dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service date. Instructions for making this correction have been sent to your dealer. It is
estimated that parts will be available on or about July 26, 1988. The labor time necessary to perform the inspection is approximately twenty (20)
minutes, but one hour will be required if brake hose replacement is necessary. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will
