Regal V6-173 2.8L (1988)
in sounding of the horn when not intended.
Elimination of this may be accomplished by replacing the horn contact assembly with a new one, Part Number 17985572. Part number has not been
changed but GMSPO stock has been reworked.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
1.
Disconnect negative battery cable.
2.
Remove two (2) screws retaining pad assembly.
3.
Remove four (4) screws retaining horn bar.
4.
Peel vinyl cover from contact assembly.
5.
Replace contact assembly, Part Number 17985572 with a new one (same part number) from GMSPO stock. (All stock at GMSPO has been
reworked).
IMPORTANT:
If needed, contact plates may be separated by bending apart as a temporary fix.
