Loosen axle shaft nut (107) one turn.

Do not remove nut at this time. Failure to follow proper sequence of removal may cause permanent bearing damage.

Loosen wheel nuts.

Raise vehicle (see Section 0A).

Brake caliper/bracket assembly (104) (See Section 5)

Axle nut (107) and washer (106)
9.
Loosen hub/bearing-to-knuckle attaching bolts (101).
10.
Using J 28733-A, push axle splines (105) back out of the hub/bearing.

Hub/bearing-to-knuckle attaching bolts (101)

Protect the axle seals and clamps from damage during handling.

Hub/bearing assembly (102)
vInspect

All components for wear or damage
vInstall or Connect
1.
Hub/bearing assembly (102) onto axle shaft splines (105). Install hub/bearing-to-knuckle attaching bolts (101) (see Section 4D).
vTighten
^
Hub/bearing-to-knuckle attaching bolts to 80 N-m (59 ft.lbs.)

Lower vehicle.

New drive axle nut (107) and washer (106)
vTighten

Wheel nuts to 140 N-m (100 ft.lbs.)

Drive axle nut to 250 N-m (184 ft.lbs.)
