Roller type valve lifters, Fig.5 , are used in this engine. Valve lifters must be replaced whenever camshaft is replaced.
Valve lifters should be kept in order so they will be reinstalled in their original positions. Some engines will have both standard and .010 inch oversize
valve lifters.
Where oversize lifters are used, the cylinder case will be marked "0.25 OS" with white paint on the lifter boss, Fig.6 .
