Oil Pump Drive Shaft: Service and Repair

OIL PUMP DRIVE ASSEMBLY

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Upper intake manifold assembly. See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair
2. Bolt/screw (240).
3. Clamp (241).
4. Drive assembly (243) and seal (242).

INSTALL OR CONNECT

FASTENER NOTICE:  Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.
Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not
use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint
clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid
damage to parts and systems.

1. Seal (242).

Coat seal or bore in engine block with engine oil.

2. Drive assembly (243).

Coat drive gear on drive assembly with prelube GM P/N 1052365 for a full 360 degrees.

3. Clamp (241).
4. Bolt/screw (240).

TIGHTEN

-

Bolt/screw (240) to 36 Nm (27 lb. ft.).

5. Upper intake manifold assembly.
