Regal V6-191 3.1L VIN M SFI (1995)
33. Disconnect lower radiator outlet hose from coolant pump assembly.
34. Remove serpentine drive belt tensioner.
35. Remove crankshaft position sensor assembly from front cover assembly.
36. remove front cover bolts/screws (42 and 43).
37. Remove front cover assembly (46) and gasket (47).
38. Remove coolant pump assembly from front cover assembly(46).
Inspection
1. Clean engine front cover and engine block gasket surfaces.
2. Inspect engine front cover assembly (46) for damage to the seals or gasket surface.
Installation
1. Install coolant pump assembly to front cover assembly (46).
2. Install gasket (47).
Important: Coat both sides of the lower tabs of gasket (47) with sealer, GM P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
3. Install front cover assembly (46).
4. Install bolts/screws (42 and 43). Tighten Large bolts/screws (42) to 47 Nm (35 lb. ft.). Small bolts/screws (43) to 21 Nm (15 lb. ft.).
5. Install crankshaft position sensor assembly to front cover assembly (46).
6. Install serpentine drive belt tensioner.
7. Connect lower radiator outlet hose assembly to coolant pump assembly.
8. Install coolant pump pulley assembly.
9. Connect thermostat bypass pipe to coolant pump assembly.
10. Install thermostat bypass pipe clip nut to upper intake manifold assembly.
11. Position power steering pump assembly and install power steering pump bolts/screws.
12. Install power steering pump pulley assembly.
13. Install serpentine drive belt shield.
14. Install coolant recovery reservoir assembly.
15. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
16. Support drivetrain and front suspension frame assembly with floor stands.
17. Remove rear drivetrain and front suspension frame bolts/screws.
18. Lower drivetrain and front suspension frame assembly.
19. Install oil pan assembly.
20. Connect transaxle mount assembly to oil pan assembly.
21. Install starter motor assembly.
22. Install flywheel inspection cover.
23. Install engine mount assembly.
24. Raise drivetrain and front suspension frame assembly.
25. Rear drivetrain and front suspension frame bolts/ screws.
26. Install engine mount frame side nuts to drivetrain and front suspension frame assembly.
27. Remove floor stands from drivetrain and front suspension frame assembly.
28. Install crankshaft balancer assembly.
29. Install engine splash shield.
30. Install intermediate steering shaft bolt/screw and cover.
31. Install front exhaust manifold pipe.
32. Lower vehicle.
33. Remove J 28467-A and J 36462.
34. Install electric engine coolant fan assemblies.
35. Install engine mount strut and air conditioning compressor bracket and engine mount strut bracket.
36. Install hood panel assembly.
37. Install serpentine drive belt.
38. Add engine oil.
39. Refill with engine coolant and add two engine coolant sealant pellets, GM P/N 3634621, or equivalent.
40. Bleed engine coolant system.
