Valve Body: Service and Repair
4T60-E Automatic Transaxle

VALVE BODY REPLACE

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Install engine support fixture tool No. J-28467-A, engine support fixture adapter tool No. J-28467-90 and engine support adapter leg tool No.

J-36462 or equivalents.

3. Disconnect torque struts at engine mounts.
4. Remove exhaust crossover pipe and two bolts at top of transaxle mount bracket.
5. Raise and support vehicle, then remove left front tire and wheel assembly.
6. Remove left front brake caliper and bracket.
7. Remove four bolts at hub and bearing assembly, then remove front drive axle.
8. Disconnect left lower ball joint, then remove left inner splash shield.
9. Remove pinch bolt at intermediate steering shaft.

10. Support left and right sides of frame with jack stands.
11. Remove frame to body bolts, then adjust left jackstand to lower left side of frame.
12. Remove transaxle mount and mount support.
13. Lower left side of engine/transaxle using engine support fixture.
14. Remove two clamps holding wiring harness to transaxle mount bracket.
15. Remove transaxle mount bracket & case side cover pan.
16. Disconnect electrical connectors from pressure switches.
17. Remove pump to valve body bolts.

CAUTION:  Do not remove the three Torx screws that hold the pump assembly together.

18. Remove 1-2 servo pipe clip and bolt from valve body.
19. Remove valve body to channel plate bolts.
20. Remove valve body, keeping spacer plate with transaxle.
21. Reverse procedure to install.
