Propeller Shaft Replace
When service is required, the propeller shaft must be removed from the car as a complete assembly. While handling it out of the car, the assembly
must be supported on a straight line as nearly as possible to avoid jamming or bending any of the parts.
Two attachment methods are used to secure the propeller shaft to the pinion flange or end yoke, a pair of bolted straps or a set of bolted flanges.

Scribe alignment marks between propeller shaft and pinion flange or end yoke to aid reassembly.

Remove strap or flange bolts at rear of propeller shaft. Tape bearing cups to prevent loss of needle bearings.
3.
Slide shaft assembly rearward, disengaging front yoke from transmission output shaft splines and lower from vehicle.
4.
Reverse procedure to install. Prior to installing propeller shaft, lubricate all shaft splines with engine oil. When installing propeller shaft,
do not attempt to drive in place with hammer. If shaft will not slip into place, inspect for burrs on transmission output shaft splines,
twisted slip yoke splines or the wrong U-joint yoke. Repair as necessary.
