Intercooler: Service and Repair
Before performing turbocharger service, note the following general cautions:
1.
Clean area around turbocharger assembly with a non-caustic solution before service. Cover openings of engine assembly connections to prevent
entry of foreign material.
2.
When removing the assembly, do not bend, nick or in any way damage the compressor or turbine wheel blades. Any damage may result in rotating
assembly imbalance, failure of the center housing rotating assembly, and failure of the compressor and/or turbine housings.
3.
Before disconnecting center housing rotating assembly from either compressor housing or turbine housing, scribe location of components for
assembly in original position.

WASTEGATE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY, REPLACE
1.
Disconnect vacuum hose from actuator.
2.
Remove clip from wastegate linkage to actuator rod, Fig. 4.
3.
Remove two bolts attaching actuator and the actuator.
4.
Reverse procedure to install.
INTERCOOLER, REPLACE
1.
Remove intercooler shroud.
2.
Remove intercooler inlet pipe from turbocharger.
3.
Remove intercooler outlet pipe and throttle body.
4.
Intercooler-to-mounting brackets attaching bolts, then the intercooler.
5.
Reverse procedure to install.
