Remove lock pin from throttle shaft, Fig. 27.

Remove rollpin from pump housing and remove governor support rod.

9.

Tilt governor carrier assembly by lifting end nearest drive end of pump and remove carrier from pump housing.

Remove clamping screw from light load cam, then remove cam.

11.

Remove E-clip from throttle shaft, then remove throttle shaft from pump.

12.

Remove and discard O-rings.

13.

Check throttle shaft assembly and governor housing bores for damage and wear and replace as necessary.

Lubricate shaft and O-rings with oil and assemble larger O-rings onto shaft.

15.

Install throttle shaft onto housing until thrust washers can be installed onto shaft in original positions. Install smaller O-ring onto shaft.

Assemble light load advance cam onto shaft and install but do not tighten clamping screw.

Install E clip into throttle shaft recess. If new throttle shaft is installed, shaft endplay must be checked and adjusted by selective fitting of thrust
washers. Throttle shaft endplay should be .006-.012 inch.

Install new pin onto head of shaft. Align throttle shaft advance cam until tool J-29601 or equivalent can be installed over throttle shaft. Tighten
cam screw, then remove tool J-29601.

Rotate throttle lever forward to the drive end of pump. Install governor carrier assembly onto pump housing and engage lug on underside of
throttle block with cut away notch in throttle shaft.

20.

Lubricate governor support rod and new O-ring, then install O ring onto support rod using tool J-33096 or equivalent.

21.

Insert plain end of rod through rear of governor housing and into carrier assembly sleeve.

Install support rod into housing and install new new locking pin, Fig. 28.

23.

Install governor cover and fuel return pipe.

24.

Install throttle return springs and connect throttle cable.

25.

Connect TV detent cable.

26.

Install vacuum regulator valve and fast idle solenoid.

27.

Start engine and check for leaks. Install air crossover and air cleaner.
