ABS Light: Description and Operation
Brake Warning System Description
The antilock brake system uses an amber ANTILOCK lamp.
The above indicator lamp is located in the instrument panel cluster. The lamp operates according to the following specifications under normal
conditions:
1. The ANTILOCK lamp turns on when the ignition turns to the run position prior to starting the engine.
2. The ANTILOCK lamp turn on when the engine cranks.
3. The ANTILOCK lamp will turn off when the engine starts.
The operation of the ANTILOCK lamp is an important part of the antilock brake system diagnosis. If the warning lamp turns on while driving the
vehicle, a malfunction is present. Refer to Antilock Brakes in Brakes.
