Body Control Module: Description and Operation
BCM Inputs
The following components provide direct input to the Body Control Module (BCM), plus other systems can use this input information in order to carry
out certain functions (refer to schematics for BCM connector/terminal location):

Accessory: Determines when the ignition switch is in the ACC and RUN position.

BCM ground: Provides ground for door lock operation.
^
BCM Provides voltage for BCM operation.
^
Courtesy Lamp On: Provides the driver the ability to request illumination of the vehicle interior.
^
Crank Determines when the ignition switch is in the CRANK position.
^
Door Ajar Provides door ajar status.
^
Door Lock Switch (Lock) Door lock switch request to lock vehicle doors.
^
Door Lock Switch (Unlock): Door lock switch request to unlock vehicle doors.
^
Door Locks: Provides voltage for door lock actuator operation.
^
Driver Door Ajar: Allows certain chime functions when the driver's door is open.
^
Ignition 0: Determines ignition switch status.
^
Ignition 1: Determines when the ignition switch is in the RUN, Bulb Test, and START positions.
^
Ignition Key Read: Reads PASS-Key(R) II resistor pellet code.
^
Key In Ignition: Determines when the key is fully inserted in the ignition key cylinder.
^
Park Brake: Determines when the parking brake is applied.
^
Park Lamps Off: Determines headlamp switch position.
^
Performance Shift: Provides an interface to the shift select switch that determines if the driver has activated the performance shift switch.
^
RFA Link: Provides an interface allowing the transfer of keyless entry information from the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR).
^
Seat Belt Switch: Determines when the driver's seat belt is unfastened.
^
Serial Data: provides an interface with the PCM, EBTCM, and the IPC through the Class II serial data link.

Trunk Ajar: Determines when the rear compartment lid is ajar.
