New BCM Setup - Scan Tool Method
After the Body Control Module (BCM) has been replaced, perform the following procedure:
IMPORTANT: After performing the new BCM setup a theft deterrent relearn procedure must be performed.
1. Connect a Tech 2 scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC) on the vehicle.
2. Input all of the required data when prompted by the Tech 2 scan tool.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
4. At the MAIN MENU screen, select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS.
5. At the SPECIAL FUNCTION MAIN MENU screen, select SETUP NEW BCM.
6. At the NEW BCM MODULE SETUP screen, select SETUP BCM. If the wrong Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) information is entered at
the following step, the BCM may need to be replaced as the Tech 2 scan tool, alone, is not capable of removing the BCM from the secured mode.
7. Input the correct VIN information when prompted by the Tech 2 scan tool.
8. After you have answered the VIN fifth digit inquiry, the Tech 2 scan tool will display NOW SETTING UP THE NEW BODY CONTROL
MODULE for a few seconds, followed by BODY CONTROL MODULE SETUP IS COMPLETE. If the scan tool indicates that it is unable to
complete the BCM setup, perform the BCM Setup Service Programming System Method procedure. See: BCM Setup - Service Programming

9. Check for BCM DTCs and erase the DTCs.
10. Press EXIT repeatedly until the APPLICATION MENU screen is viewed.
11. Disconnect the Tech 2 scan tool from the DLC.
12. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
After the New BCM Setup has been completed, perform the Theft Deterrent Relearn procedure. The vehicle will not work properly if this
procedure is not followed after setting the new BCM to the features of the vehicle. See: Theft Deterrent Re-Learn
