Brake Modulator (ABS)/Master Cylinder Assembly

ABS Brake Modulator/Master Cylinder Assembly

CAUTION:  To help avoid personal injury, due to a retained load on the brake modulator, the gear tension relief function of the scan tool must be
performed prior to removal of the Antilock Brake System (ABS) brake modulator/master cylinder assembly.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Using the scan tool, perform Gear Tension Relief Sequence.
2. Two brake solenoid valve electrical connectors.
3. Brake fluid level indicator sensor electrical connector.
4. ABS brake motor pack 6-way electrical connector.
5. Four brakes pipes.
6. Two nuts attaching ABS brake modulator/master cylinder assembly to vacuum booster.
7. ABS brake modulator/master cylinder assembly.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. ABS brake modulator/master cylinder assembly in vehicle.
2. Two nuts attaching ABS brake modulator/master cylinder assembly to vacuum booster.

-

Tighten nuts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

3. Four brake pipes to ABS brake modulator/master cylinder assembly.

-

Tighten tube nuts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

4. ABS brake motor pack 6-way electrical connector.
5. Brake fluid level indicator sensor electrical connector.
6. Two brake solenoid valve electrical connectors.

Important:  Bleed as outlined in BLEEDING SYSTEM.
