Body Control Module: Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
BCM Input/Output Information
The following components provide direct input to the Body Control Module (BCM). Other systems can use this input information in order to carry out
certain functions:
BCM Inputs

Accessory - provides an interface to the ignition switch to determine ignition switch status.

CRANK - provides an interface to the ignition switch to determine ignition switch status.
^
Courtesy Lamp Switch - provides the driver the ability to request illumination of the vehicle interior.
^
Door Jamb Switch - provides door-ajar status to the BCM.
^
Driver's Door Switch - allows the BCM to take certain actions based on whether the driver's door is open.
^
Ignition 0 - provides an interface to the vehicle ignition switch to determine ignition switch status.
^
Ignition 1 - provide an interface to the vehicle ignition switch to determine ignition switch status.
^
Key In Switch - provides an interface to determine whether or not the ignition key is completely inserted in the ignition key cylinder.
^
Lights On Chime Switch - provides an interface to the vehicle headlamp switch to determine headlamp switch position.
^
Lock All Switch - provides an interface that allows the driver to request that all vehicle doors be locked.
^
Park Brake Switch - provides an interface that allows the park brake switch to determine when the park brake is applied.
^
Seat Belt Switch - provides an interface to the driver's seat belt switch that allows it to determine when the driver seat belt switch is buckled.

Shift Select Switch - provides an interface to the Transmission shift select switch that allows it to determine if the driver has activated the
performance shift switch.
^
Trunk Ajar Switch - provides an interface that allows it to determine when the trunk lid is ajar.
^
Unlock All Switch - provides an interface that allows the driver to request all vehicle doors to be unlocked.
^
Theft Data - provides an interface to the vehicle ignition switch that allows it to determine if the correct key is being used to attempt to start the
vehicle.
The BCM directly controls the following outputs. Other systems may request the BCM to control these outputs for certain functions:

Driver Door Unlock - provides power to the driver door actuator via a relay external to the BCM.

Fog Lamp Enable - controls the ground to the fog lamp enable relay coil.
^
Horn Relay - controls power to the horn.
^
Lock Battery - provides an interface to the door lock actuators that allows them to be energized locking the doors.
^
Theater Dimming 1 - controls certain interior lamps in the vehicle which will be theater dimmed.
^
Theater Dimming 2 - controls certain interior lamps in the vehicle which will be theater dimmed.
^
Unlock Battery - provides an interface to the door lock motors allowing them to be energized unlocking the doors.
^
Vehicle Anti-theft Ground - provides a separate ground return interface for the vehicle anti-theft system.
^
Inadvertent Power - provides an interface to the electrical loads which are controlled by the inadvertent power circuit.

DRL LINK - provides an interface to the DRL control module allowing the BCM to determine the current ambient light operating mode and to
activate the vehicle head lamps for signaling and alarm purposes.

Remote Function Actuation (RFA) Communication Link - provides an interface allowing the transfer of RFA command information to and
from an external RFA subsystem.
