Rear Knuckle Alignment Link: Service and Repair
Spindle Rod Replacement (Front)
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
2. Tire and wheel.
3. Rear wheel spindle rod-front to knuckle bolt/screw and nut.
4. Lower rear suspension support to gain clearance for bolt/screw.
Important: Support rear suspension support with transmission jack or hoist stands.
5. Nut from rear wheel spindle rod at rear suspension support.
6. Push bolt/screw forward enough to provide rod removal clearance.
7. Rear wheel spindle rod.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTICE: Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application.
The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require
thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors)
on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and the joint clamping force, and may
damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you
avoid damage to parts and systems.
1. Rear wheel spindle rod.
2. Rear wheel spindle rod to rear suspension support bolt/screw.
3. Rear wheel spindle rod to rear suspension support nut.

Tighten nut to 140 Nm (103 ft. lbs.).
4. Rear suspension support.
5. Rear wheel spindle rod to knuckle and bolt/screw.
6. Rear wheel spindle rod to knuckle nut.
^
Tighten nut to 150 Nm (110 ft. lbs.).
7. Tire and wheel.
8. Lower vehicle.

Adjust toe.
