Fluid Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Transaxle Oil Cooler Hoses
NOTICE: Allow sufficient clearance around transaxle oil cooler pipes and hoses to prevent damage or wear which may cause fluid loss.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Position drain pan.
3. Transaxle oil cooler hoses from transaxle oil cooler fittings in transaxle.
4. Transaxle oil cooler clamps from transaxle oil cooler hoses at transaxle oil cooler at radiator.
5. Transaxle oil cooler hoses from transaxle oil cooler at radiator.
6. Transaxle oil cooler hose clip bolt/screw.
7. Transaxle oil cooler hoses.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTICE: Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application.
The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require
thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors)
on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and the joint clamping force, and may
damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you
avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: Correct thread engagement is critical. Crossthreaded fittings can achieve proper tightness value and still leak.
1. Transaxle oil cooler hoses.
2. Transaxle oil cooler hose clip bolt/screw.

Tighten bolt/screw to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Transaxle oil cooler hoses to transaxle oil cooler at radiator.
4. Transaxle oil cooler clamps to transaxle oil cooler hoses at transaxle oil cooler at radiator.
5. Transaxle oil cooler hoses to transaxle oil cooler fittings in transaxle.

Tighten hose fittings to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
6. Lower vehicle.

Fluid level.
