Fluid Filter - A/T: Service and Repair
Oil Filter and Seal Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the oil pan and the gasket. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
2. Remove the filter (100).
3. Remove the lip ring seal pressed into the case only if replacement is necessary.
4. Inspect the screen for the following foreign material:
^
Metal particles
^
Clutch facing material
^
Rubber particles
^
Engine coolant
5. Determine the source of the contamination if foreign material is evident. Repair as necessary.
6. Clean the screen and allow the screen to dry completely.
Installation Procedure
1. If removed, install a new seal (101).
2. Install the filter (100).
3. Install the gasket and the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
