Park Brake Cable Replacement - Right Rear (Drum) 

Tools Required

J37043 Park Brake Cable Release Tool

Removal Procedure 

Caution:  Refer to Brake Dust Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Release the park brake.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. 

3. Loosen the park brake cable equalizer nut in order to remove the park brake left side cable from the park brake equalizer.
4. For domestic vehicles, perform the following steps.
5. Remove the tire and wheel. 
6. Remove the brake drum. 
7. Remove the park brake cable from the park brake actuator.

8. Use the J37043 in order to remove the park brake cable from the backing plate.

Installation Procedure 

1. Install the park brake cable to the backing plate.
2. Install the park brake cable to the park brake actuator.
3. Install the park brake left side cable to the park brake equalizer.
