Pinion Flange: Service and Repair
Drive Pinion Flange/Yoke and/or Oil Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the torque tube assembly.
2. Remove the drive pinion housing oil seal (1) and discard.
3. Important: The internal components of the torque tube assembly cannot be serviced separately. If corrosion exists that cannot be polished off, or
there is excessive scoring or wear, the torque tube must be replaced as a complete assembly.
Inspect the sealing surface (1) of the propeller shaft contained inside the torque tube. Polish corrosion off with a crocus cloth.
Installation Procedure
1. Lubricate the new pinion housing assembly oil seal with synthetic gear oil GM P/N United States 12378514 Canada P/N 88901045 or equivalent.
