Tailgate Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair

Lock Cylinder Replacement - Endgate

Removal Procedure

1. Open the endgate.
2. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate  (See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Trunk / Liftgate

3. Remove the endgate water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Endgate  (See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Trunk /

Liftgate Interior Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Water Deflector Replacement - Endgate) .

4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the endgate lock cylinder.
5. Disconnect the endgate lock cylinder wiring harness from the endgate inner panel.

6. Remove the endgate lock cylinder retainer from the lock cylinder.
7. Remove the endgate lock cylinder from the endgate.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the endgate lock cylinder to the endgate.
2. Install the endgate lock cylinder retainer to the lock cylinder, pressing into place until fully seated.
3. Connect the electrical connector to the endgate lock cylinder.
4. Connect the endgate lock cylinder wiring harness to the endgate inner panel.
5. Install the endgate water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Endgate  (See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Trunk /

Liftgate Interior Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Water Deflector Replacement - Endgate) .

6. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate  (See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Trunk / Liftgate Interior
