SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING ZONE 7

DISABLING PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT:  Refer to SIR Service Precautions.

1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicles wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn OFF the ignition.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
4. Remove the console accessory wiring junction block access hole cover.
5. Remove the SIR Fuse.

IMPORTANT:  With the SIR Fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG indicator illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate
an SIR system malfunction.

6. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the LF/driver side impact module connector (1) which is located under the driver seat.
7. Disconnect the vehicle harness connector from the LF side impact module connector (1).

ENABLING PROCEDURE

1. Remove the key from the ignition.

2. Connect the vehicle harness connector to the LF side impact module connector (1).
3. Install the CPA to the LF side impact module yellow connector (1).
