Oil Filter Adapter: Service and Repair
Oil Filter Adapter and Bypass Valve Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the oil filter.
Important: Do not remove the oil filter fitting unless replacement or repair is needed.
2. Remove the oil filter fitting, if necessary.
3. Remove the oil filter bypass hole plug, if necessary.
Important: Do not pry against the threads in the oil filter bypass hole when removing the bypass valve.
4. Insert a flat bladed tool into the oil filter bypass hole and remove the bypass valve, if necessary.
