SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING ZONE 1

DISABLING PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT:  Refer to SIR Service Precautions.

1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn OFF the ignition.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
4. Remove the console accessory wiring junction block access hole cover.
5. Remove the SIR Fuse.

IMPORTANT:  With the SIR Fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG indicator illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate
an SIR system malfunction.

6. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (2) from the front end sensor harness connector (3). 
7. Disconnect the harness connector (3) from the front end sensor (1). 

ENABLING PROCEDURE

1. Remove the key from the ignition.

2. Connect the harness connector (3) to the front end sensor (1).
3. Install the CPA (2) to the front end sensor harness connector (3).
