Timing Cover: Service and Repair
Installation
Front Cover
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTE: Crankshaft sensor requires no adjustment.
1. Gasket at cylinder block.
2. Front cover and attaching bolts.

Apply sealant GM P/N 1052080 or equivalent to bolt threads.

Tighten bolts to 30 Nm (22 lbs. ft.).
3. Oil pan to front cover bolts.

Tighten to 14 Nm (124 lbs. in.).
4. Crankshaft sensor.
5. Sensor shield.
6. Balancer and bolt.
-
Tighten balancer bolt to 150 Nm (111 lbs. ft.) +76°.
7. Drive belt(s).
8. Torque axis mount.

Tighten bolt to 87 Nm (65 lbs. ft.)
