Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair
NOTE: Care must be taken when handling Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the
fuel injection system.
REMOVE OR DISASSEMBLE
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Drain radiator coolant.
3. Disconnect the ECT Electrical connector.
4. Using a 19 mm deep socket and extention, remove sensor.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1
Hand start the ECT Sensor into the engine.
2. Tighten Sensor to 30 Nm (22 ft lb).
3. Connect electrical connector.
4. Refill coolant.
5. Negative battery cable.
6. Start engine and check for leaks.
7. Recheck coolant level.
