1.
Raise car on hoist.
2.
Grasp filter and one fuel feed line fitting. Twist quick connect fitting a quarter turn in both directions to loose any dirt inside fittings. Repeat on
other fitting.
3.
Blow out dirt from fittings with compressed air.
4.
Squeeze plastic tabs of male connector end and pull connector apart. Repeat for other fitting.
5.
Remove the filter from the car.
INSTALLATION:
1.
Install the new filter in position loosely.
2.
Apply a few drops of oil to both tube ends of the filter.
3.
Install new plastic connector retainers on filter inlet and outlet tubes.
4.
Push the connectors together to cause the retaining tabs to snap into place.
5.
Lower the car.
6.
START the engine and inspect for leaks.
7.
Pull on both ends on each connection to make sure connection is secure.
8.
Bolt onto frame and check for leaks.

Fuel Pump/Fuel Gauge Sending Unit (typical)
A woven plastic filter is located on the lower end of the fuel pick-up pipe in the fuel tank. This filter prevents dirt from entering the fuel line and also
stops water from entering the fuel system, unless the filter becomes completely submerged in water. This filter is self-cleaning and normally requires no
maintenance. Fuel blockage at this point indicates that the fuel tank contains an abnormal amount of sediment or water. Therefore, the fuel tank should
be removed and thoroughly cleaned and the tank filter replaced.
