Roadmaster V8-305 5.0L (1992)
IMPORTANT: Before removing the temperature air valve actuator (16), any fault codes(s) displayed by the control assembly microprocessor should
be cleared by first pressing the "OFF" touch switch of the control panel, and then disconnecting the battery.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative cable battery.
2. Ashtray.

Open ashtray.
^
Remove four retaining screws and pull ashtray away from instrument panel opening.
^
Disconnect instrument panel harness lighter connector and ashtray lamp connector from ashtray, and remove ashtray.
3. Tilt lever from steering column.
4. Steering column opening filler (30).
^
Remove two screws (31) near the lower edge of the filler (30
^
Pull down on the steering column opening filler (30) to snap four filler integral clips out of the instrument panel carrier (25) and remove the
filler (30).
5. Instrument panel trim plate (32).
^
Partially lower steering column by loosening the mounting nuts.
^
Remove eight trim plate screws (33).
^
Pull the trim plate (32) straight away from the instrument panel carrier (25), snapping the seven trim plate integral retaining clips out of the
slots in the instrument panel carrier (25).
6. Temperature air valve actuator (16) and screws (17).
^
Remove two attaching screws (17).
^
Pull temperature air valve actuator (16) straight rearward and off air valve shaft.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTICE: Do not operate the temperature air valve actuator unless it is installed or the actuator will not be properly indexed when it is installed.
1. Temperature air valve actuator (16) and screws (17).

Align metal drive sleeve of temperature air valve actuator (16) with flats on air valve shaft and press temperature air valve actuator (16)
straight forward into position.
^
Install two attaching screws (17) tight without stripping the threads.
2. Ashtray.
^
Install instrument panel harness lighter connector and ashtray lamp connector to ashtray.
^
Align ashtray with locating pins at both sides of instrument panel opening and press ashtray into position.
^
Install the four attaching screws.
