SUBJECT:
STEERING WHEEL RETURNABILITY (REPLACE POWER STEERING GEAR VALVE ASSEMBLY)
MODELS AFFECTED:
1992-93 ROADMASTERS WITH EVO STEERING (RPO NV7)
CONDITION:
Some customers may comment on slower steering wheel returnability particularly during a low speed turning maneuver on 1992-93 Roadmasters with
variable effort steering (RPO NV7).
CAUSE:
Low system steering effort requirements at slow speed and off-center mass distribution of the steering wheel with SIR (Supplemental Inflatable
Restraint).
CORRECTION:
Replace existing power steering gear valve assembly with new assembly P/N 26042103 and the existing power steering pump actuator and fitting
assembly with new assembly P/N 26027975.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
For 1992-93 Roadmaster models, follow applicable Service Manual procedures in Section 3B and 3B1, Power Steering Gear and Pump.
Parts are expected to be available on 6/7/93.
