Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Description and Operation
Transmission Range (TR) Pressure Switch Assembly
Transmission Range Pressure Switch Assembly Circuit.
PURPOSE
Five pressure switches are connected to three PCM signal circuits referred to as range signals A, B and C. The combination of pressure switch
state determines voltage on each range signal.
The PCM process this information to determine selected range of the transmission.
OPERATION
Five pressure switches, two normally closed and three normally open, detect fluid pressure within the valve body passages. The combination of
pressure switch state determines voltage signal, B+ or 0, on each range signal to the PCM.
LOCATION
The Transmission Range (TR) Pressure Switch assembly is attached to the valve body inside the transmission.
